WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL/COAT DRIVE

  • OCTOBER 6 – OCTOBER 25
  •  COLLECTION BOX AT EACH PRIMARY BUILDING
  • HATS/GLOVES/COATS
    • NEW or GENTLE USED
    • ALL AGES

Wyoming High School Student Council will once again be holding a Coat Drive for the Newcomer School, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The Newcomer school is a school for immigrant and refugee children in the Indianapolis area.  We will be collecting coats at all of our buildings this year from October 6th – 25th.  You will find boxes at the main entrances of each building.   We are looking to collect new or gently used coats, hats and gloves for all ages.  Please consider helping out with this very worthy cause. Last year the Wyoming community response was tremendous; we are hoping to get the same results this year.

If you have questions, please contact Angie Edmonds at Wyoming High School… edmondsa@wyomingcityschools.org

WSMA bringing performance opportunity to Wyoming for K-6th grade students

Wyoming School Music Association (WSMA) is proud to present a week-long Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp for Kindergarten – 6th grade on November 12-17 in Fay Auditorium. Missoula Children’s Theatre travels the world producing one-week theatre residencies and WSMA is bringing their expertise and enthusiasm to Wyoming for our younger students to experience the theatre. The camp is expected to fill quickly, so visit http://www.wyomingmusic.org soon to register.

Participants will perform “ROBIN HOOD”, Conceived and Written by Michael McGill, Music by Michael McGill: The time is simply long ago and the place is the magical, mythical Sherwood Forest. Our hero, Robin Hood, and his Merry Band of colorful characters seek the help of the Foresters, manage to waylay the Aristocrats and set out to rescue Maid Marion and Marion’s Maid. Prince John tries to stay calm as his Sheriff, guards, and horsemen botch Robin’s arrest thanks to the aromatic Skunks. Wacky humor and an original score add to this fresh new look at a legendary outlaw in a legendary time.

Theatre Camp Information:
*This camp is only for Wyoming students in Kindergarten – 6th grade.
*The camp will run 4-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, Nov. 12–16. There will be two shows: 3 & 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.
*If you register and pay for the camp, your student is guaranteed a role in “Robin Hood”.
*All students will audition for their individual part/role on Monday, Nov. 12, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. After the audition, some students will stay for rehearsal that evening and some will be finished for the day. After the students learn their roles, they will receive a rehearsal schedule for the rest of the week (kindergarten and 1st graders will not stay past 6 p.m. on school nights). Students MUST be available for the FULL WEEK of rehearsals – they will not be excused for appointments or practices when they are called to rehearse.
*Students do NOT have to prepare anything for the audition. The Missoula directors will ask students to act and sing various things, but no advance preparation is necessary – just bring a smile and good attitude.
*There are 4 Tech Crew parts for interested 5th or 6th graders.
*The cost to participate is $160 per student. This includes: a week of rehearsals with professional directors, two fully-produced musical performances with a full set and costumes from Missoula, snacks during every rehearsal break time, a pizza dinner between the two shows on Saturday, two tickets to each show (additional tickets will be available for purchase), and an experience to learn about and appreciate the world of musical theatre.

Visit http://www.wyomingmusic.org to fill out the form and pay through PayPal to officially register your child.
